What a house! Spacious, ultra-stylish, and well-equipped, with all the up-to-the-minute conveniences you need for a happy large group stay. Push open that huge front door and step into a commodious reception hall with beautiful Corinthian style pillars, a velvet sofa that's utterly divine, and a hide rug. Go through a smaller reception room to the huge open plan living space, once the conservatory where fruit was grown. And wow, it's amazing; soaring fan vaulted pillars, an ornate ceiling, swish contemporary kitchen, big inviting sofas, and natural light just pouring in through all those windows.
It's a very sociable space, perfect for entertaining. You can chat as you prepare a feast and be very much in on the fun whilst keeping an eye on the cooking, which won't be any trouble as there are 2 big ovens, a large halogen hob, and a microwave. If you fancy a bake off you'll find plenty of useful gadgets, even a blender and a liquidiser - and of course, a dishwasher for when you've finished. The chunky dining table is big enough to seat all, and when you've had your fill you can chill out on the enormous sofas and contentedly watch a film or some comedy.
Go through the kitchen or the reception hall to a cosy living room /snug with big fat sofas and plump cushions; on a chilly day, light the fire, curl up and relax with a cup of coffee, or a good book. Play board games or catch up on your favourite soap.
Also off the reception hall is an awesome multi-functional gym and games room, with plenty of space for a table tennis match, a work out, or some relaxing yoga. Down a few steps from the hall is a rather exquisite loo, all dark and boudoir, with black walls and a metallic chest of drawers; just wait 'til you see it - it's so worth a mention!
The wide staircase takes you to a spacious landing, and then a short flight of stairs leads to the opulent master bedroom, which has a kingsize bed. The big double aspect windows fill the room with light, and right in front of one of them is a double-ended free-standing bath, but there's also an en suite shower room and the luxury of a spacious mezzanine dressing area which overlooks the main bedroom.
There are two more en suite bedrooms on this floor, finished in restful muted tones with sophisticated contemporary furnishings. One overlooks the front garden and has an original Victorian fireplace, and a very modish 4 poster bed. The other has a superking bed to one end and a work area with a big old fashioned desk to the other; the two parts of this long room are separated by an exposed brick half wall with a double sided open fireplace.
On the second floor are three more fabulous en suite bedrooms, two with king size beds and the other with a double. All are individually styled; one has quirky Penguin book wallpaper, a Victorian fireplace, full length window shutters, and a small balcony which overlooks the hot tub and outdoor pavilion, and the park beyond.
All bedrooms have a good sense of proportion, and are designed with flair and elegance - you'll find plush velvet headboards, mirrored furniture, gorgeous silky throws and feature flock or embellished wallpaper. It's all very calm and restful, with a lovely big house ambience.
All en suite bathrooms are well laid out, swish and modern, with high quality fixtures and fittings. When you're on holiday you have more time for things like a long soak in a bath full of bubbles; when you get out, put on a fluffy robe, pamper yourself with some luxury toiletries from the basket in your room, then settle down for a blissful night's dreaming. Happy times and happy holidays.
