Halse, Somerset
Halse is a lovely little village close to the Quantock Hills and a few miles from the Somerset County town of Taunton. Of about 100 properties in the village, many are listed, so no surprise that it’s a Conservation Area; there’s a gorgeous red stone 12th century church, and right in the middle of the village is a pub called the New Inn. This is a friendly place for lunch or dinner – and they specialise in catering for larger groups (8-14 people)!
