Foxcombe - Accommodation
One of 5 luxury timber-clad lodges on a small private site at the foot of the Quantock Hills, Foxcombe was made for big happy holidays, celebrations with your nearest and dearest, and peaceful hen weekends. 6 bedrooms sleep 14, there’s a big sociable open-plan living space and best of all, your own private pool. It’s a great place to stay any time of year; in the colder months the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor keeps it all nice and cosy, in the summer you can pull the full height doors right back to let the sunshine in.
The lodges were all designed to be private and self-contained, facing away from each other and with their own parking. Step in through the door at Foxcombe to that huge light filled space; there’s a kitchen to one end, a big U-shape sofa to the other, and in the middle, a long dining table to seat you all. The kitchen has all you need to make catering for your large group stress free, or for private caterers (see Extras) to come in and cook up a fantastic birthday or anniversary feast for you. When it’s warm, open the doors wide, step out onto the patio for cocktails and canapes or a big barbecue, when it’s colder, comfy up for a cosy night spent watching your favourite movie.
Right of the living space are Bedrooms 1-3; Bedroom 1 has an ensuite shower room and doors that open onto the patio so you can slip out for fresh air as soon as you wake up, Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have their own shower rooms. All the bedrooms at Foxcombe have TVs and zip and link beds (super king or twin).
Upstairs, on the left there’s a games area with table football and beyond that are Bedrooms 4 and 5, both with ensuite bathrooms that have a bath and handheld shower. Bedroom 4 is a great room for a family to sleep in or for 4 older children sharing as there are two zip and link beds, giving you the option of two super kings, a super king and two singles, or 4 singles. To the right of the landing is Bedroom 6, which has its own shower room.
If the weather is good you’ll spend many happy hours out on the patio where there’s garden furniture and huge parasols to shade you from the heat of the sun; fire up the barbecue, get the steaks sizzling, pop a few corks. Right opposite the main living space is the indoor heated pool, exclusively yours for the whole of your stay; take a late night dip, an early morning swim, get in and lark about with the kids throughout the day. Ramp up that holiday vibe by opening the floor to ceiling doors and letting the sunshine roll on in, laze about on the loungers with a long cool drink to sip. Younger children will love playing on the slide and swings, and they’ll be bouncing about on the trampoline, shrieking with delight. This is well thought out group accommodation with something for all ages, which is why families come back to Foxcombe time after time.
