There’s so much to love about Lively Lodge, whether you come for a holiday with friends, with family, for a peaceful celebration with your darlings, for a girly getaway, or a happy hen weekend. Finding group accommodation for as many as 22 people this close to Bath isn’t easy, but this is so much more than a place to stay. It’s somewhere to enjoy, to totally relax, to relish the joy of being together.
Set back off the road in the lovely Somerset countryside, this handsome Georgian holiday house has 5 bedrooms – 4 in the main house and 1 in a self-contained modern studio in the grounds - ideal for a family, or for those who like to have their own space. Large gardens with 2 hot tubs and outdoor table tennis go a long way to keeping all ages amused. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room is spacious and elegant, the conservatory dining room is light and airy. The bedrooms in the house can all sleep 4, the studio bedroom sleeps 6, so this really is the perfect set up for groups of younger families with small children – you can all cosy up together to snooze the night away.
Lively Lodge is well situated for exploring the beautiful city of Bath, not in the thick of it, but easy to get to in just 10-15 minutes. Go and explore, see all the wonderful attractions, soak up the Roman and Georgian history. On your ‘must see’ should be the Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and the horseshoe weir, Bath Abbey, and whatever appeals of the many museums and galleries. Retail therapy comes in big doses and when you’re peckish, boy, do you have an incredible choice of places to eat! This is the only city in the world where you can try a Sally Lunns bun, still made to a recipe that dates back 1680, but apart from that there are countless bars, cafes and restaurants.
It's a little further but you could spend a day in Bristol, discovering the sights and sounds. Hang out at the vibrant Harbourside, mooch about in elegant Clifton Village, race across the downs for tremendous views of the city and the world-famous suspension bridge. Take the kids to Bristol Aquarium, We the Curious or SS Great Britain. It’s all fab and fun!
Or plan a pootle about the Cotswolds and come back with your head full of dreams, of living in the country in one of those postcard pretty villages with a cosy little pub and a tea shop and the river babbling along. Stroll about the spectacular Slad Valley, immortalized by Laurie Lee in Cider With Rosie, take a family trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, visit the very unique Sezincote Manor.
Ah, these are dream days indeed, times you’ll remember forever; happy times to treasure, rolling in clover, loving it, loving it.
Great for: Families, friends, refined hen weekends, corporate groups.
