Welcome to Ducky Bird Island, right in the middle of a private water-skiing lake in Oxfordshire, reached from the mainland only boat*. Inside there’s a games room/living room, a dining room and kitchen, and 8 bedrooms to sleep 16, plus room for 6 more guests (extra charge per person) in a fabulous dorm room, so what fun. The gardens wrap around this striking contemporary house and have for your entertainment a hot tub, outdoor table tennis, an outdoor kitchen, and a rustic style Wonky Bar.
You’ve got your own little world here so going out might not even cross your mind. Why would it, when there’s plenty to keep you happy on Ducky Bird Island? But just across the water there are watersports and therapy rooms where you can book for pampering or a Japanese Head Spa. Once you’re on the mainland it’s not far to country pubs, award-winning attractions and Oxford with its famous museums and dreaming spires.
*2 Motorboats are provided. Designated boat drivers must be 25+ and hold a valid driving licence.

"We hired The Island for my 40th birthday and it was perfect! It was very special to start the weekend with a boat trip across the lake to the Island.The location is stunning, all of the rooms are finished to a high standard, and the house was stocked with every item we would ever need. There was plenty for the children to do - games, pool table, table tennis, video games, and the hot tub was a huge hit. The Wonky Bar was a great addition, to sit and enjoy a beverage on the swing seat from a different aspect of the garden. The house is large and spacious, so despite 22 of us in total it never felt crowded, and it was nice to have the large bunk room for the children to share at the opposite end of the house. The Island is so peaceful, we woke to sounds of geese and ducks on the lake each morning and panoramic views. We will definitely be returning to enjoy another long weekend sometime soon!"
