Quantock Barns - Accommodation

Quantock Barns is made up of sympathetically converted farm buildings that sleep 14 as a whole, and have a games room, all arranged around a central courtyard with ample outdoor seating and a large barbecue area. This is a great set up for group holidays and family celebrations where people can have their own space but can still gather together for happy sociable times; it’s also an ideal arrangement for self-catering corporate breaks, whether it’s for hospitality or team building away days. There are 4 more self contained suites available at an additional charge, providing 10 extra beds.

From the car park, follow the path beneath the sturdy wooden pergola to Quantock Barns; round to the right is The Wagon House, the main barn, which sleeps 4 in 2 ensuite bedrooms. Downstairs is a large light and airy open plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area to one end; there’s a range cooker and large hob, a US style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of handy gadgets. This is a big sociable space with a dining table that seats 14 so you can all get together here for happy celebration feasts; if you hire private caterers to come and create a scrumptious dinner or serve you canapes, they can quite easily work in the kitchen whilst you all mingle at the other end of the room or if the weather is good, out in the courtyard.

To the far end of the open plan space there’s a big corner sofa and a wood-burner to give extra warmth during the chiller times of year. French doors open onto a courtyard where there’s a private hot tub and outdoor furniture. Upstairs off a wide galleried landing are 2 bedrooms with super king beds and a TV; Bedroom 1 has a free-standing bath within the bedroom as well as an ensuite shower room, Bedroom 2 has a bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower.

On the ground floor beneath the Wagon House are Wagon Wheel and Double Tree, 2 separate suites both sleeping 2 guests in a super king bed. Each has an ensuite shower room, and is open plan with a kitchen area where there’s a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, and a table and chairs for 2. Interiors are modern throughout Quantock Barns, finished in neutral tones that give a very calm ambience, all conducive to relaxing days and restful nights.

Next to The Wagon House there’s a large games room with a big U-shaped sofa, a widescreen TV and a pool table; to one end is a handy kitchen area, and off to the right, a WC. Then there’s The Shire Horse, tucked away in the corner of the courtyard, sleeping 2 in zip and link beds (super king or twin) and with an ensuite wet room. Next to this are Paddock 1 and Paddock 2, both with their own access from the courtyard. They each sleep 2 in zip and link beds that can be arranged as a super king or twin beds, and they both have an ensuite shower room. Between these two rooms is The Grazing Paddock, a good-sized shared living space with comfy seating and a kitchen area that has a table and chairs for 4, an oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. This suite is equally well suited for a family or two couples.

The paved and gravelled central courtyard is quite a sunspot and has plenty of room for you all to gather together for breakfast in the sunshine, for lunch, a leisurely BBQ or evening cocktails; there’s ample seating and a large built-in barbecue with space each side for prepping and serving. While away the hours relaxing and chatting, catching up – just the kind of thing that large group stays are made of, time to enjoy, time to be together.

To the side of the courtyard are 4 extra suites; 3 of them sleep 2 and the other has two bedrooms, so it sleeps 4. All beds are super kings and each suite has an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and comfy seating. These suites can be booked separately at an extra charge each (see Rooms).
