Kingshay Barton - Accommodation

Luxury togetherness awaits you at Kingshay Barton, at the end of a no-through lane on the edge of a Somerset village. This beautiful holiday house sleeps 20 guests in 10 ensuite bedrooms, with 3 extra guest beds available, ideal for toddlers, at an extra charge each. With large private grounds, a games room, cinema room, and an amazing spa hall that has a pool, hot tub and sauna, this is a fantastic choice for large family holidays in the UK.

Step into a wide hallway with stairs straight ahead and off to the right, the games room where you can play pool or table tennis and catch the latest big match. Up a short flight of stairs is Kingshay Odeon - a proper mini cinema with tiered seating for 18 and sumptuous floor cushions to lounge about on; it has air con, interval lights, surround sound and an enormous screen. Also off the games room is the snug, a quiet room overlooking the courtyard, with vintage brown leather Chesterfields and gorgeous bottle green velvet chairs.  A lockable door leads from the games room to the spa hall via a lobby with WC facilities to the left. Centre place in the spa hall is the pool, and to one end there's a sunken hot tub and a sauna.

Upstairs are Bedrooms 1-3, all with ensuite shower rooms. Bedroom 1 (Purtington) can accommodate an extra guest bed at additional charge; Bedroom 2 (Downclose) and Bedroom 3 (Broadstone) both sleep 2. The bedrooms at Kingshay Barton are all named after features in the local landscape - hamlets, fields, woods and farms on the Coombe Farm Estate. Beds are zip and link so can be arranged as super kings or twins.

Left of the entrance hall is a vast open plan living space. There are plush velvet sofas and chairs to settle down on and along the side of the room is a long bespoke dining table. At the far end of the room there’s a very swish kitchen with everything you need to take the stress out of catering for a large group. Light floods in through floor to ceiling windows, French doors open onto the garden; it's a wonderful room that sets the scene perfectly for happy family celebrations. Make it extra special by hiring private caterers to come and create a feast for you (see Extras).

Off the kitchen is a utility room and steps down to a hallway with access to the courtyard - handy for when you've been out for a romp across the field with the dog; dry him off, leave your muddy boots and your wet coat. Off the hall are Bedrooms 4-6, all sleeping 2; Bedrooms 4 and 6 (Coombe and Moultons) have ensuite bathrooms with a bath, TV and separate shower; Bedroom 5 (Wayford) has an ensuite wet room. Bedrooms 5 and 6 also have room for an optional extra guest bed (charged).

Bedrooms 7-10 all have ensuite shower rooms and are in the attached former stables, accessed from the courtyard. The first door takes you to a lobby with Bedrooms 7 and 8 (Venley and Warren) to either side; the second door leads to another lobby and to Bedrooms 9 and 10 (St Rayn and Foxwell).

Just outside of the main living space there's a big patio with outdoor furniture; step onto the lawn and stroll around pathways to a mini henge, and to the rustic BBQ bothy. Spend balmy summers evenings beneath the twinkly lights; if it gets chilly close the doors and windows, or put the heaters on.

Kingshay Barton is a beautiful place to stay for your family holiday; the 2 acre grounds are a dream, with trees all around, flowers tumbling onto the grass, and plenty of room for the kids to run around. A gate leads down a gentle slope to a stream, to the other side of the house a big orchard is edged by a high stone wall where another stream babbles merrily along; in the spring time the apple trees are frothy with blossom. Special memories will be made at Kingshay Barton. Book your stay today!
