Eardisland, Leominster, Herefordshire

Just a few miles from Leominster, Eardisland is a picturesque village on the banks of the River Arrow where time ticks slowly by and all is well. If the Black and White Village Trail brings you here, find somewhere to park, get out and have a wander round; see the quirky old half-timbered ‘Black and White’ buildings that this part of Herefordshire is famous for, go and buy something tasty and local from the village shop – housed in a historic dovecote where the first floor is used as an exhibition room.

Amble down to old ford, roll up your trouser legs and have a paddle, and if your tummy is asking for food go to The Cross Inn or The White Swan where outside there’s an AA box – the only known surviving one of its kind that dates from pre-war times.
