4 miles from Bridgwater, 12 miles from Taunton, the course at Cannington Golf Club is said to be one of the best in the South West among the golfing fraternity, and whether you agree with that accolade or not, it’s certainly got a lot going for it. At 6,127 yards par 68, the 9 hole 18 tee course has meticulously maintained open fairways and subtle contours that combine to provide a good game for all abilities. The distraction is the spectacular views of the Quantock Hills – well worth exploring when you’re on your large group holidays in Somerset.
If you’re after a bit of practice, the club has a floodlit driving range with undercover and outdoor bays, a swing studio, putting green, and Foresight Sports technology and GC Quad Launch Monitor. There’s also a well-stocked shop but no hire, so bringing your own equipment and golf bag is par for the course, if you’ll excuse the pun.
