Beaverbrook 20 - Accommodation
Beaverbrook 20 is the result of a sympathetic conversion from centuries old barns to commodious self-catering group accommodation for 20 (room for 10 more guests at an extra charge each). The private spa hall has an indoor heated pool, a large hot tub and a sauna with room for 8. This supersize holiday house brings huge helpings of luxury togetherness to big family holidays, low key celebrations and corporate away days.
The main building is The Granary Barn, exuding wow factor from the minute you walk in. A wide hallway leads to the enormous open-plan living space, flooded with natural light from full height windows. To one end is a well-equipped kitchen where a central island allows for chitchat while you create a delicious feast – or leave it to recommended private caterers (see Extras), something that’s popular for family celebrations. Off the kitchen is a utility room with laundry facilities.
Central to this vast living space is a long chunky dining table; imagine: everyone sat round, glasses raised, a scrumptious dinner to tuck into... At the other end of the room there’s a snug area with colourful sofas and a big TV. Making such a huge and sociable space homely is quite a task, but at Beaverbrook 20 that’s exactly how it is - wooden floors, cowhide rugs, cosy armchairs and well-chosen accessories all add to that welcoming feel.
Off the living area is Bedroom 1, access friendly with an ensuite bathroom and doors opening onto the courtyard. This room sleeps 2 but can sleep 3 more guests at an extra charge each. Also at this end of the main building is Bedroom 2, sleeping 2 guests (+1 more, charged extra), with an ensuite bathroom. Off the kitchen area are Bedrooms 3 and 4, both with snooze space for 2 and ensuite shower rooms. All beds at Beaverbrook 20 are zip and link (super king or twin).
On from these bedrooms is the spa hall, with full height windows and doors to the garden. Centre place is a heated pool, beyond is a sunken hot tub and a glass fronted sauna. Just outside the spa hall there’s a large patio with bespoke rustic garden furniture and a barbecue; the brick-walled garden has an all-weather lawn, a sturdy play train, and a Nordic style BBQ lodge where you can gather together under the fairy lights any time of year.
Back inside, from the hallway stairs rise to a wide landing - a stairlift makes things easier for the less able bodied; to the left is the living room/movie room, with natural stone walls and high oak beams. There are enormous sofas and a projector with a pull-down screen; use it as a TV or for rolling photographs of your holiday or celebration.
Opposite the living room is the games room, bright and airy with floor to ceiling windows to both sides. This is the perfect chill out space, with an 8ft American pool table, table tennis, table football, US air hockey, a docking station, and a big TV where you can plug in your games consoles. Trendy floor cushions add to the relaxed vibe and there's a handy kitchen area to one end.
Bedrooms 5-10 are just across the courtyard in the Tie Stalls, once the milking parlour for the farm. All are individually finished and have a very restful ambience, with plenty of natural light and French doors giving access to the courtyard. These rooms all sleep 2, with an additional extra guest bed available (charged per person) and they all have ensuite shower rooms.
