Bathampton, Near Bath, Somerset

Bathampton is a picturesque village just two miles east of Bath; it has a rather unusual claim to fame - Plasticine used to be made here. Remember that stuff? It’s actually a very nice place to go for a leisurely stroll around, especially if you want to step down a gear from the busy pace in the city centre. Amble along the Kennet & Avon canal, or around the tranquil wetlands nature reserve. You could always round it off with lunch at Bathampton Mill or have coffee and cake on the Café on the Barge. If you fancy a little adventure, plan ahead and cycle along the towpath from Bradford on Avon to Bathampton; along the route you'll see beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife on the water.
