Bathampton, Near Bath, Somerset

This picturesque village is just two miles east of Bath and has the unusual claim to fame that Plasticine used to be made here. It’s actually a very nice place to go for a leisurely stroll around, along the Kennet & Avon canal, or around the tranquil wetlands nature reserve. You could always round it off with lunch at Bathampton Mill or have coffee and cake on the Café on the Barge. You can cycle along the towpath from Bradford on Avon to Bathampton, which with the beautiful scenery you’ll see along the way makes for an enjoyable afternoon out.
