West Wilts Golf Club, Warminster, Wiltshire

West Wilts Golf Club dates back to 1891, making it one of the oldest traditional courses in the South West. The position, high on a hill above Warminster is enviable - probably the first thing you'll notice are the views, which are absolutely incredible, stretching across three counties. But to pause now and then and look out on miles and miles of rolling countryside, well, that makes your game even more memorable, surely? Another big advantage here is that the chalk subsoils allow for excellent drainage, allowing for good golfing conditions year round, so provided it's not lashing with rain or foggy as pea soup you should be able to get a game in.
The course is 18 hole, Par 70 at 5,754 yards; fairways are excellent, greens small and approaches undulating, so in other words, your short game will need to be up to scratch. If you're a corporate group or there's a bunch of you looking to play, the club offers Society Golf Day Packages, which are well worth considering.
There's a very friendly clubhouse at the West Wilts Golf Club, with a bar and a restaurant so pop in for lunch or a piece of homemade cake.
