The Somerset Arms, Semington, Trowbridge, Wiltshire

This old coaching inn has got itself a good reputation in these parts for the delicious food it serves, all homemade using local seasonal ingredients, as is the way these days, keep that carbon footprint low.  The Somerset Arms is run by a local family who aim to keep the pub very much a part of the community whilst extending a very warm welcome to visitors, children and the pet pooch included.
They do have a children’s menu though they prefer for the little folk to try a smaller portion from the main menu, and why not? Mains include Roasted butternut squash and sage risotto, Root vegetable pie, Smokey fish pie, Slow roasted belly pork, and Braised lamb shoulder as well as pub favourites like fish and chips, burgers, ham, egg and chips. Go and find a cosy corner and tuck in; it’s a nice old building with thick stone walls, and in the winter, roaring log fires to keep you warm.
