The Rising Sun, Knapp, Somerset
Tucked away round the narrow lanes not far from North Curry on the Somerset Levels is this 15th century longhouse. It's utterly charming; oak beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, wooden panelling, and two big inglenooks with wood-burners. There's a good selection of West Country ale and cider, food is pub style and on the mains are Homemade fish cakes, Beef chilli, Stilton, spinach & mushroom Wellington, and a good choice of burgers. Sunday roasts are recommended and dogs are welcome. Sit out on the terrace on a summers days for sheer mindfulness, especially after a walk along the River Tone just down the hill.
