The Plough - Accommodation

From redundant country pub to large group holiday home, The Plough is just a short drive  from Bath and only 2 hours travel time from London; this place is packed with wow factor, not just from the impressive size of the house but also from the look, the feel and what's there. The décor is crisp and contemporary throughout with gorgeous colours on the walls and colourful, well-chosen accessories; it all works, that's the thing, it's all very stylish and trendy and it blends to perfection with the original features - chunky timbers, exposed Bath stone walls and wood floors. The feels are calm and relaxing so you won't have any trouble unwinding here.

From the car park go round to the back of the house and step into a lobby that leads off to the kitchen on the left, light and airy with all you need to rustle up a scrumptious dinner; to one end there's a table that's handy for breakfasts or for feeding the kids if they need to eat earlier than the grown-ups. This is a kitchen where you can be cooking, singing and dancing all at once - it's a very sociable space. If you’re celebrating a significant birthday or a notable anniversary, push the boat out and hire one of our tried and tested private caterers to cook up a delicious feast for you.

Right of the lobby is the games room and private bar, with a pool table and comfy seating by the wood-burner. The bar is the original from when The Plough was a pub and has stools for you to perch on. Just outside there’s a paved courtyard that faces onto the lane, a nice spot for a beer or coffee in the sunshine.

Go through to the commodious living/dining room where you'll find colourful sofas, a widescreen TV, and to one end are the dining tables. Gather together in here for a movie night and for big happy dinner times; step out through the French doors into the courtyard when you fancy a spot of fresh air.

Just off the kitchen stairs rise to a long landing and to Bedrooms 1-7, Bedrooms 1 and 4 have ensuite bathrooms with overhead showers, the rest have ensuite shower rooms. All bedrooms except Bedroom 3 (double bed) have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins; Bedrooms 2 and 6 can both accommodate an extra guest bed (charged per person) and Bedroom 1 sleeps 4 as it also has bunk beds – so it makes a great room for a family.

On the ground floor at the other end of the house are Bedrooms 8-11, all with ensuite shower rooms. Bedroom 8 has a king size bed, Bedroom 11 is a twin room and the other two have zip and link beds. Heritage colours and an overall ‘hygge’ style gives the bedrooms a very restful ambience so you should sleep well here, especially with all that fresh country air.

Outside at the back of the house there's a large patio with garden furniture and a built-in brick BBQ, so when the sun is shining you can all get out there and get the steaks sizzling. Dine alfresco beneath the leafy arbour, enjoy a long, lazy barbecue and a game of croquet with the little ones. When the sun goes down stay and chat under the twinkly lights long into the small hours, have a good soak in the hot tub – what’s good is that it’s covered so you can use it anytime of year. Make the most of it, savour every moment; that’s what The Plough was designed for - big happy holidays. Book today!
