Over Stowey, Somerset

Nothing more than a cluster of cottages centred around a very pretty Victorian church, but it’s charm will take your breath away. The village is snuggled in a fold on the beautiful Quantock Hills, surrounded by the most gorgeous countryside with views reaching across to the Somerset Levels and the Mendips, and to the Bristol Channel and Wales. People come here to soak up the tranquillity and to explore on foot, on bike, or by horseback, and you should do the same. There's a nice walk from Nether Stowey to Over Stowey, only 3.6 miles so it won't take you long and when you get back you can have a drink in the Ancient Mariner.
