If you’d like to spend time exploring the spectacular Wye Valley go and do it with Monmouth Canoe & Activity Centre; spend a half day or whole day on the River Wye amidst some truly stunning scenery – this has to be one of the best ways to see it, and the most peaceful. Monmouth Canoe & Activity Centre hire modern Canadian canoes and kayaks for self-guided or guided tours. You can go as far as you like and if you’re up to it, can paddle up to 100 miles, taking in the sights of Monmouth, Ross on Wye, Hay on Wye, Symonds Yat and the beautiful Forest of Dean, though you’ll probably need to do that over a few days!
They also do adventure activities too, so if you’ve ever fancied trying abseiling, rock climbing or raft building, here’s your chance. They provide bespoke activities for hen parties and corporate groups and for private events like birthdays – they get a lot of bookings from groups of friends and family celebrating a 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th birthday, and what a great idea if you’re celebrating at one of our large group holiday houses in this neck of the woods.
Anyone over 4 years of age can do this, though if you can’t swim, let them know. They provide all the necessary safety gear and instruction, and with 30 years of experience behind them these guys know the river better than anyone, so you’re in very safe hands. Just make sure you wear sensible clothes.
