Hawkridge Reservoir, nr Spaxton, Somerset

A number of public footpaths link to Hawkridge Reservoir, although due to the relatively small size of the water and lack of bank space there are no walking routes around its shores. The reservoir can be viewed from the designated footpaths or from nearby Lawyers Hill, and twitchers can check up on the bird life. It’s worth taking in, with many of the viewpoints providing a good spot for a breather. The waters are stocked with a range of trout, with day fishing tickets available from Wessex Water. The village of Spaxton is close by so go there afterwards for a drink at The Lamb Inn.
