Go Ape Wyre Forest, Bewdley, Worcestershire

Head to Go Ape Wyre Forest near Kidderminster for fun and frolics on high ropes in the treetops, a great day out for families on holiday in Worcestershire, for hen parties, corporate team building days and for those who just  love an adventure. If you're celebrating a birthday how's about getting a group of you up there swinging through the trees, whooping with delight? Round it off with a long, lazy picninc and a stroll on one of the forest trails.

The setting is wonderful; fantastic scenery, amazing views - especially from up in the canopy. The Wyre Forest is one of the biggest of Britains' remaining ancient forests and is known as the 'Valley of the Giants' because it has some of the most enormous Douglas fir trees. You can see it all for yourselves at Go Ape Wyre Forest, whether you take the Treetop Challenge or the Treetop Adventure.

You need to be 10 years or older to do the Treetop Challenge, and at least 4ft 7. It'll take you 2-3 hours to complete the course, tackling obstacles like the Stepping Stones, the tug-of-war of the Bosuns Chair, and the trip across the Stirrups. The higest platform is 14m high and the longest zip wire 160m - woo hoo!.

Treetop Adventure is more for younger families and will take about an hour (kids need to be at least a metre tall). Conquer challenges like like Half Noughts and Crosses, wobbly bridges, the Flying Carpet and zip wires - the longest is 70.4m. For both courses there's a weight limit of 20.5st, you get all the safety harnesses and gear and qualified instructors are on hand for guidance and assistance if you need it.

Book before you go as opening times very throughout the year.
