Dancing Hill - Accommodation

High on a hillside with commanding views across the Somerset countryside, Dancing Hill has been lovingly converted from two centuries old cottages to a luxury large group holiday home. You’ll feel the warm and welcoming ambience as soon as you walk in through the timber porch to a wide hallway that’s bursting with character; soft lighting, herringbone terracotta tiles on the floor, a low ceiling and exposed timbers. Go straight through to the kitchen where you’ll have everything you need when it comes to catering for your group stay.

Steps go down to the large dining room, flooded with natural light from the full height windows that wrap round two sides. There's a striking aluminium dining table and studded leather chairs, perfect for those scrumptious celebration feasts. To one end of the room are big leather sofas and a huge TV, so you don't have to miss those all-important matches! Bi-fold doors open onto the patio, and French doors lead to the covered veranda and secure garden. Off the dining room is a big walk-in pantry with a larder fridge and heaps of storage, and a quirky loo with a walk-in shower.

Left from the hall is the sitting room, which overlooks the front garden. This room is homely and inviting, with sofas to nestle on, a wood-burning stove to light on colder days, and a big TV – we love the glass-covered, backlit working well in the floor. Off the sitting room there’s a utility room with laundry facilities and a loo; also accessed from outside, this is handy for when you get back from a country walk with muddy boots and wet dogs. The games room is right next to the sitting room; country pursuits wallpaper adds character, there's table tennis, and sofas for spectators. From the games room you can go through to the kitchen or step out through the double doors onto the veranda.

To the right of the hall is Bedroom 6, with a feature fireplace, wooden beams and a super king bed (zip and link, so it can be arranged as two singles if you prefer). Upstairs a long landing leads to Bedrooms 2-5, all individually designed. To the right is Bedroom 5 with access to a small ante-room with quirky Penguin book wallpaper and soft seating. Windows to two sides give you views over the living roof terrace (not accessible) of the Somerset coast. This room can sleep 2 extra guests at an additional charge per person.

Straight ahead at the top of the stairs is Bedroom 1, a large room with a TV and an ensuite shower room. Sit in bed with a cup of tea and admire those far-reaching views; what a great start to the day! At one end of the room glazed doors lead to the ante-room; to the other end is a door through to Bedroom 2 (lockable) - so this makes a good set up for a family with parents in one room and children in the other. Bedrooms 1 and 2 both have room for one of the extra guest beds, the ante room is a better option with room for both.

Bedroom 3 overlooks the front garden and has quirky velvety dog wallpaper; next to this, Bedroom 4 is a pretty room with a double bed and an outlook over the front garden to the village and the countryside beyond. All the bedrooms at Dancing Hill have zip and link beds that can be arranged as a super king or two singles, with the exception of Bedroom 4 which has a double bed. The family bathroom is heritage style with a bath that has a handheld shower, and a good-sized walk-in shower cubicle.

The gardens at Dancing Hill are large and secure with lawns, a covered veranda, a large patio with seating and a barbecue, and decking with the swim spa and hot tub; at the bottom of the garden is a paddock. There’s plenty of room for the little ones to play and for all to enjoy the outdoors; slip into the hot tub and admire the views, chat into the night with the lights twinkling on the far horizon. Happy days, peaceful nights. Book your stay at Dancing Hill today!
