The Brendon Hills, Somerset
Not so many people know about the Brendon Hills; it’s basically a long high ridge between Exmoor and the Quantocks, a quiet landscape of open fields, woodland, and river valleys, with the peak of Lype Hill standing at 1,380 feet above sea level. There are lots of walking routes in the Brendons and the scenery, apart from the heavy red soil of these parts, is strikingly beautiful.
