ZSL London Zoo, London

Who wants to go to the zoo? To London Zoo? Yay, what an amazing day out, with so many creatures to see, and some you can get close up to. There’s Penguin Beach, Land of the Lions, Rainforest Life, Tiger Territory, Gorilla Kingdom, Butterfly Paradise and more, and the zoo is home to a magical menageries of animals – in no particular order: Galapagos tortoises, otters, gibbons, Komodo dragons, lemurs, pygmy hippos, sloths, porcupines, zebras, hyenas, warthogs, crocodiles, snakes, and birds, birds, birds including storks, ibis, turaco, hammerkop and a blue-bellied roller. At times the zoo is filled with a cacophony of calls, whoops, howls and roars, and it’s all SO exciting!
Like most zoos, they do experiences, so you can meet meerkats, penguins, giraffes, and monkeys, and there are daily events like a tour of the weird and wonderful residents of the reptile house, a chance to discover more about the lions who live at the zoo, and the opportunity to meet face to face with some very extraordinary bugs. Several exhibits are under shelter so even if it’s a bit wet out or if it the weather takes a turn for the worse, there’s still plenty to do.
