Willows and Wetland Centre, Stoke St Gregory, Somerset
Willow has been grown on the Someret Levels for generations and here at the Willows and Wetlands Visitor centre you can see it all; displays, a museum and an interactive exhibition that sets out the relationship between this traditional industry and the unique landscape where the willow is grown and worked. Buy a hand woven basket from the shop, stop for a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake at the Lemon Tree Coffee House, have a stroll around the marked walks; see local crafts and photographs in the galleries, take a guided tour. What gets you most is the sheer tranquility; it's a lovely way to spend a few hours.
Open: Mon-Sat 9.30-5.00, closed Sundays.
