The Stonemill, Rockfield, Monmouth
This charming converted mill a few miles from Monmouth has entries in all the top eating guides - Michelin, Les Routiers, The Good Food Guide, and Time Out, so you know it's going to be good. The ambience is relaxed and as you'd expect of an old mill, there's plenty of original character; rustic beams, exposed brick walls, and the old stone mill is a quirky feature in the dining room.
The Market Menu served on Fridays and Saturdays features Barbary duck roast, Monkfish loin, Slow cooked shoulder of lamb, and Roasted loin of venison, all locally sourced, fresh and seasonal. There's also a lunch menu, a steak menu, and the Sunday Lunch & Seafood Grill are both very popular.
