The Cosy Club, Taunton, Somerset
Those of you familiar with The Cosy Club will know that they have very much their own style, their own way of doing things; they think of it as 'mansion splendour meets village hall eccentricity' and that pretty much sums it up. They have a wide range of menus as they serve brunch, sandwiches, burgers, sharers, and tapas as well as mains; it all caters well for vegetarians and vegans with delights such as Aubergine Tagine, Thai Green Vegetable Curry and a Super Food Bowl. The setting is, as you'd expect, cosy, but also rather grand and old and a bit sumptuous, as is synonymous with The Cosy Club, and in this case, it's a Victorian arts college over two floors. Think eclectic - mismatched furniture, quirky ornaments and artwork, tasselly lampshades. Equally good on a night out or to drop in for a bite to eat whilst shopping in Taunton.
