The Boathouse Bar & Grill is only a stone’s throw from the beach at Dawlish Warren so if you don’t fancy the idea of a picnic on the sands, give this place a try for eats.
From the outside it does have a bit of a boaty look; inside is traditional and pubby, with a notable boathouse feel, helped by the low ceilings, lots of exposed wood and ships lanterns tucked about. In the winter when they light the wood-burner it’s proper cosy.
There are two floors to The Boathouse; downstairs is very relaxed with sofas and booths and little snug areas, upstairs is light and airy with fabulous views out over the coastline. In the summer dine outdoors on the balcony or in the beer garden, or sip a late night drink up on the terrace where there are heaters to keep you warm.
A peek at the menu reveals that there is quite a lot to choose from; sandwiches and hot rustic baguettes, burgers, steaks, flame grilled rack of ribs, homemade kebabs, and sharers, and Boathouse Favourites like Oven baked lasagne, Spaghetti carbonara, Chickpea, cauliflower & sweet potato curry, and Boathouse salad.
