Tarr Farm Inn, Tarr Steps, Dulverton, Somerset
This is a lovely spot in Exmoor National Park for refreshments during the day, whether it’s just a drink, a hearty lunch, or a cream tea. Sometimes all you can hear is the twittering of birds and the babbling of the river at the bottom of the hill where Tarr Steps are, and with a backdrop of gently sloping wooded hills, it’s perfect. To sit on the big terrace in these gorgeous surroundings, with a drink in hand and your favourite people with you is just bliss.
In the evening try a starter of Blow Torched Mackerel Fillet, followed by Roasted Loin of Venison, rounded off with Pear Frangipane Tart. Yes please. Dulverton is about 5 miles away.
