Queens Head, Monmouth, Monmouthshire

A fully renovated black and white 16th century pub in the middle of Monmouth, with the main claim to fame being that an attempt was made to assassinate Oliver Cromwell here. The second is that it’s actually reputed to be the third most haunted pub in Wales but forget the heebie jeebies and give it a try. They have regular live music – jazz, acoustic, Celtic and world music so grab a drink and listen, soak up the vibe. We’re not sure what’s happening with food as at the time of writing the restaurant was closed.
