Oscar’s Wine Bar, Crewkerne, Somerset
This used to be an antiques shop but it's now a warm and cosy unpretentious bar with interesting décor and nicknacks; centuries old carved ceiling beams, scrubbed pine tables and huge settles. The food is no frills pub grub and you get eye poppingly generous portions – plus it’s remarkably good value. It gets mixed reviews so make of it what you will but give it a try if you’re in Crewkerne having a mooch around as it’s quite a quirky place and it’s family friendly and dog friendly.
