Ortus House - Accommodation
You’ll love your large group holiday at Ortus House from the minute you drive through the security gates and park up. Step in through the porch to a huge reception hall and you’ll notice the wow factor straightaway; this is a fantastic house that’s spacious and luxurious throughout. Interiors are a stylish mix of contemporary and eclectic older pieces, with huge artworks and well chosen colours; it feels so welcoming that you’ll soon settle in.
Off to the right is the kitchen, a large room that's very well-equipped with everything you need to make your holiday stress free. This big and sociable open-plan space has comfy seating, a wood-burner and TV to one end, and a chunky dining table that seats 10 to the other. Doors lead off to the indoor pool, the patio, a rear staircase, and to a utility room; a rear hall takes you to the laundry room and out to the front garden – see the Floor Plans and it will all make sense.
Straight ahead of the main hall is the living room, with plush soft velvet sofas, a huge TV, an open fire with glass safety doors, and French doors opening onto the patio. Next door is the dining room where a long polished table seats 14, setting the scene for celebration feasts; if you’re here for a special occasion, perhaps a big birthday or anniversary hire one of our trusted private caterers to come and do the cooking for you. Left of the hall is the gym, with a cross trainer, rowing machine and exercise bike, so you can even maintain your exercise routine whilst you’re here.
Stairs rise from the hall to a wide galleried landing that goes right the way round the first floor; off this are Bedrooms 1-4. Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom and is very commodious with air conditioning, a super king four poster bed, a dressing area and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and double walk-in shower. Bedrooms 2-4 all have king size beds and en suite shower rooms.
From a corner on the landing another staircase leads down to the kitchen and up to the second floor. This floor is perfect for the younger folk in your group as the games room is also up here, so it gives them their own space. First on the left is the shower room and straight ahead is Bedroom 5 with a king size bed. Off a further landing are Bedrooms 6 and 7 and the games room; Bedroom 6 has twin beds, Bedroom 7 has zip and link beds that can be arranged as a super king or twin, plus a single. The games room has a pool table, a racing car console and comfy seating, so it’s a cool place to hang out.
Back downstairs, the indoor pool hall is accessed via a security pad; this is tremendous fun, with an infinity pool with a wave machine, and a 'shark wall' to one end. Big doors open onto the patio, and the other side of the pool hall there’s a changing room and the steam room, tiled throughout and fitted with internal showers.
A large patio runs right along the back of the house, accessed via the lounge, the indoor pool, and the kitchen (the kitchen has a safety gate so you can pull it across if you have toddlers with you). There are several seating areas, an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, and a pull-out canopy for when the sun gets too hot; if the evenings come in a little chilly there’s a heated canopy and patio heaters. Have a good soak in the hot tub, have fun in the heated outdoor pool* with the kids – they’ll love the slide!
Step up from the patio to the lawn where there’s a play area, a sunken trampoline and a quiet seating area. The garden is a peaceful spot, with mature shrubs and trees, and it's such a quiet neighbourhood, there'll be nothing to bother you at all.
