Lighthouse of the Whales, Ile de Re, France

Lighthouse of the Whales is named after the many whales that have beached here, with the last mass beaching in 1920. The lighthouse dates back to 1854 when it was built to replace the close by original one that is the oldest in France, dating back to 1682.
