Hamble House - Accommodation

Set in large private grounds in the peaceful village of Warsash near Southampton, Hamble House is a great place to stay for happy family holidays and celebrations, or for self-catering corporate away days. You’ll have views over the River Hamble, fresh coastal air and everything you need to ensure a happy holiday or short break.

Electric gates and a private drive lead to a large parking area; get out and stretch your legs then go up the steps and in through the front door. Straight ahead of you in the commodious reception hall is a double sweeping staircase, to the left is the huge and well-equipped kitchen with a walk-in pantry and utility room, on from this is the orangery with comfy seating, a dining table, large TV and bifold doors opening onto the terrace.

Because it’s all open plan this is such a sociable space, so you can all get together to raise a toast if you're here celebrating a special birthday or anniversary. The kitchen is so well-equipped that cooking for a big group is no problem, but if that doesn't appeal just book one of our recommended caterers (see Extras) to come and create a feast for you.

Round to the right of the hall is the games room with a pool table and roulette; get your glad rags on and roll those dice! A little further along is the dining room* and a short staircase down to the spa hall. Just inside is the steam room, to one end of the hall is a hot tub and centre place is the heated pool. When it’s sunny, pull back the bifold doors and bring in the sunshine, add to that holiday vibe.

Back up the stairs, off a half-landing is the living room, all calm and comfy with plenty of sofas and a big TV. Upstairs, left on the big part-galleried landing are Bedrooms 1 and 2, both with double beds, ensuite shower rooms, and balconies with outdoor furniture. Sleep in Bedroom 2 and you wake up to fabulous views over the water.

Right of the landing are Bedrooms 3-7. Bedroom 3 has a super king bed, an ensuite bathroom with a spa bath and walk-in shower, and its own seating area; doors open onto a balcony with river views. Bedrooms 4 and 5 are both double rooms that share a bathroom with a free standing bath and walk-in shower. Bedroom 6 has zip and link beds (super king or twin), a seating area, ensuite shower room and a balcony. Bedroom 7 has a nautical theme and a vaulted ceiling; there’s a double bed, comfy seating, and an ensuite shower room. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe space and Freeview TVs. Bedroom 8 is on the top floor - a penthouse style suite, with a super king bed, a bathroom and lounge area with a TV, and seating in front of a Juliette balcony that has views over the garden and the river.

The gardens are to the back and side of the house; there’s plenty of outdoor furniture on the terrace outside the orangery, and a separate solarium makes a great place to relax by day or evening. A path leads to the year-round BBQ hut, and dotted around the garden are more seating areas, so you can sit out and soak up that coastal air. Also in the grounds are 4 self-contained studios and a lodge that provide additional accommodation for up to 10 guests for a minimum stay of 2 nights (see Extra Beds).

Stroll around the gently sloping gardens with their distinctly Mediterranean feel; amble along the Victorian walk, take your time and enjoy the peace and the river vistas. It's a world of your own at Hamble House, a modern version of a coastal country house. A place to stay, to relax and be happy. Book today!

* The dining room seats 14; there is another table in the orangery that seats 10. The orangery can be set up to seat 16 together by utilising an additional table, but note that this must be requested in advance.

Note: There is currently building work underway in the adjacent property. This is evident at the approach to Hamble House, but once you have gone through the gates it feels like a world of your own. Banners have been erected on the garden boundary so the building works are not really visible from Hamble House, other than from the balconies of Bedrooms 1 and 2. Noise is kept to an absolute minimum and there is no work on site at weekends. This should not affect your enjoyment during your stay but it is possible that you will hear/see some evidence of the works.
