Gheluvelt Park, Worcester, Worcestershire

This memorial park was built in honour of the men who lost their lives in the First World War and it’s really rather nice for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. There are two different parts to it – one is more quintessential municipal park and the other is an informal wildlife area; both are equally lovely. It’s the kind of place where everyone quietly goes about their way and it’s popular with families, with a Splashpad and a play area, or for walking the dog. There’s also tennis courts, outdoor table tennis (you’ll need your own bats), and an outdoor gym circuit. Have tea and cakes in the Pump House Café.

Open from  11.00am every day from April-Sept.
