Yes, it’s a chain, but it’s popular, and as it’s right in the centre of Monmouth it’s easy to pop in when you’re exploring the town. Downstairs you’ll find cosy corners where you can sit quietly and chat or read the papers, and upstairs you can sip your coffee and watch the activity out in the streets. The menu is actually rather good, with baps, burritos, ciabattas, porridge and pancakes, and some temptations like Eastern Flatbreads and Med Veg Tart. Of course it’s good to find somewhere independent but don’t rule this one out.
