Chedworth Roman Villa, Cheltenham, Gloucester

Go and explore the remains of Chedworth Roman Villa, one of the finest of its kind in Britain, lying in the quiet of a beautiful Cotswold valley. See the mosaic floors, hypocaust systems, bath house rooms and Nymphaeum Water Shrine; in the museum you’ll find a collection of artefacts found on the site. Definitely one for lovers of history and a good place for families to visit as there are children’s trails, activities and events during the school holidays, but even better are the dressing up baskets. If you’ve got time do the woodland trail behind the main site; find the treasure boxes and enjoy the views. As is usual for the National Trust there's a cafe for refreshments and a shop where you can buy souvenirs.

Great for history buffs and family days out when staying nearby on a large group holiday in Gloucestershire.

Opening times vary throughout the year so you'd be wise to check before you go.
