Bocabar, Glastonbury, Somerset

Bocabar is a lively place on the outskirts of Glastonbury, in an old revamped red brick warehouse, so it’s up there in the trend stakes, all a bit mis-matched, bit of a raw urban edge, that kind of thing, but a totally relaxed rural vibe and it’s good, it works. So, what’s the bottom line? Good food, great cocktails, DJ’s and live music; a cool place to be, somewhere you could have a night out, which, let’s be honest, is a bit thin on the ground in these parts. And do you know what? They’re doing good, they’ve won awards already, and they’ve only been there a few years.
Right, lunch – Saffron, garlic and oregano risotto, Slow cooked white onion, Westcombe cheddar and thyme pie, Bocabeef or veggie burger, Brixham fish stew. And dinner? Pretty much the same, though local steak and chicken is on the menu too.
Best of all, if you’re staying nearby, it’s a chance to get your glad rags on and sip cocktails – Apple & Elderflower Collins, French Martini, Negroni Bianco….
