Beachcomber Café, Woolacombe, Devon

In the summer the Beachcomber Café gets very busy, which is understandable because it’s got a fantastic location, overlooking the sandy beach at Woolacombe on the North Devon coast, with astounding views out to sea. Everyone is welcome, whatever time of day as long as you behave yourselves. They start off the day with cooked breakfasts and continue with brunches, lunches, all day snacks and an awesome selection of homemade cakes. They cater for vegans, vegetarians and those on a gluten free diet, who can even have a proper job Devon cream tea. The other plus is that the Beachcomber Café is licensed so if you’re in Woolacombe and it’s one of those lovely bright days with just a hint of a sea breeze, go and get yourself a glass of nice crisp white and sit out on the terrace with it where you can watch the comings and goings.

Just to give you an idea of the type of food served, a sneaky peek at the blackboard reveals sandwiches, wraps, baguettes, Soup of the day, Jack Fruit curry, Sweet potato falafel, Salt and pepper squid, and Ham, egg and chips. There’s no fuss, no frills, very reasonable prices and friendly service.

Open 9.00am-5.00pm every day (they close at 4.30pm Nov-Feb)
