Whitehaven has been thoughtfully renovated and extended in recent years to provide spacious and luxurious self catering holiday accommodation. The property is both well-equipped and stylish, with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay; the warmth of oak floors in the games room, living room and snug creates a homely ambience, and the big kitchen diner is light and airy with a big, sturdy table which comfortably seats 12 people - fantastic for everyone to sit round and tuck into a big celebratory feast.
Designed as a sociable space with ease and convenience in mind, the kitchen has a double oven range with a large gas hob, an American style fridge/freezer, a microwave and a dishwasher. Right next to the kitchen is a handy utility area with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and a door to the separate WC. The kitchen leads through to the capacious dining room, another bright and airy room with lots of natural daylight - and don't forget - if you don't fancy cooking, let us know and we can recommend some of our tried and tested caterers to come in and create a feast fit for a king.
Off the dining room is the games room with a pool table - perfect for some in-house competition - and a bookcase offers plenty to keep you entertained. Continue through to the spacious living room, with a large TV, a traditional style woodburning stove (lovely for those chillier times of the year) and French doors leading out to the patio and garden.
There is also a cosy snug on the ground floor, the ideal space for some downtime with a good book, or to sit and have a quiet chat. Next to this is the downstairs bedroom which has zip and link beds to be configured to a kingsize or twin room, according to your requirements. This is a bright and cheerful bedroom with an ensuite shower room and French doors out to the garden.
There are 5 further good sized bedrooms on the first floor, all with flatscreen TV's; three of these have en suite shower rooms and the other two have use of a shared bathroom.
The big garden is a serious draw of this property; there are gorgeous far reaching views across the countryside, and woodland to one side so it's a great spot for watching wildlife. When the skies are blue and the sun is shining you can enjoy a big barbecue on the patio, and if the English weather should let you down you can take shelter in the heated pavillion which can easily seat your entire party. Just imagine sitting there with a glass of wine or a beer, putting the world to rights as the night draws in...
The swimming pool measures 10x5m and has a constant depth of 1.2m, so is great for all the family. It is housed in a separate building close to the house, and has a WC and heaps of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows which open out onto the garden.
