It's a bit of a tear jerker when you can't take your family pet on holiday with you - and let's face it, you miss them, so it's great to find a property that allows dogs; The Benches does. And what a great base for some fantastic walks with your four legged friend; the beautiful Wye Valley offers plenty of opportunity to get out and about, whether it's an ambient stroll or a longer hike, you'll be spoilt for choice - and what's more, you'll be surrounded by the most stunning scenery. Riverside walks, woodland glades, rolling hills, and lush meadows await you, and narrow winding lanes where you can stumble across a dog friendly country inn to enjoy a relaxing pint or a laid back pub lunch. Within easy reach are the Forest of Dean, the Black Mountains, and a little further afield, the Brecon Beacons - all make for great days out where your pooch can join in the fun. Closer to home, exit the gate at the bottom of the garden onto part of the 136 mile Wye Valley Walk, turn left and after two miles you'll reach The Boat Inn, so stop for a drink or some grub and then climb the hill to join the ancient Anglo-Welsh border of Offa's Dyke or walk to the Kymin and back down through the woods to town, or walk to Symonds Yat and back. Explore the villages nearby and you'll find plenty of quiet spots where your dog can have a swim in the river whilst you picnic on the banks - it doesn't get much more idyllic than this!

Note: Two dogs are welcome at this property and must be added when you are making your booking. A charge of £50 per dog will then be applied to the booking total.
