Riverside is a boutique style rural retreat that's light and airy throughout, and so peaceful. A wonderful welcoming feel envelopes you as soon as you step in from the front porch to the reception/dining room; right here is where your troubles tiptoe softly away and your holiday begins. Finished in elegant neutral tones, the room exudes a sense of restfulness; to one end a plump sofa faces a user-friendly wood-burning stove; there's quirky bookshelf wallpaper in the alcoves, slate floors and soft lamplight.

In the middle of this light filled reception room a chunky dining table seats 12-14 so there's plenty of room for happy family feasts. At the other end of the room is one of the two staircases.

Wander through to the kitchen, where you'll find a snug breakfast area with built in seating to three sides. Off the other end of the reception/dining room is a lobby that leads off to a wc and utility, and through to the games room (more later).

The Shaker style kitchen is very well equipped and again, it's bright and airy. With that outlook across the Somerset Levels you might just find yourself doing a fair bit of kitchen sink dreaming! A door opens out onto the river bank - a tranquil spot for morning coffee or a sundowner, but remember that the river is unfenced so young children must be supervised at all times.

Next to the kitchen is a big living room with plenty of sofas for you all to put your feet up. Neutral and earthy tones, chenille and velvet, and fluffy rugs create a very homely ambience. Off this room you'll find a wc and shower room, and a garden room that makes a wonderful playroom, with French doors out to the garden.

A second staircase leads from the living room to Bedrooms 1 and 2. Bedroom 1 overlooks the leafy front garden and has a superking bed and an en suite shower room. The bedrooms at Riverside are all individually furnished so they have their own quirky character and a lovely homely ambience.

Bedroom 2 is at the back of the house so you can sip your morning tea and take in the glorious far reaching views over the river and the undisturbed Somerset Levels. This area is a haven for wildlife, particularly migratory birds, so keep some binoculars handy because you might see a rare visitor.

The staircase in the reception/dining room leads to a spacious landing; a quiet spot with a Victorian fireplace where you can sit and read by the window. Off this are Bedrooms 3-5, the family bathroom, a separate shower room, and stairs to the second floor.

Bedroom 3 overlooks the river and is nautically themed, with a traditional style double bedstead; a quirky touch that works well with the more modern furnishings.

Bedroom 4 faces the front garden and has zip and link beds which can be arranged as a superking or twins. An original Victorian fireplace adds period charm to this more contemporary styled room.

Bedroom 5 is a charming room with a view out over the river and fields; you can have the beds arranged as a superking or two singles.

On the top floor of the house is Bedroom 6 with zip and link beds (superking or twins) and across the little landing, is a bathroom with a shower. From here, the views across the marshy landscape of the Somerset Levels are breathtaking - a fantastic start to the day.

Many happy hours will be passed in the games room! There's a pool table that doubles up for ping-pong, plus table football, a dartboard, and Sky TV. Step out of the double doors to the front garden and there beneath a leafy arbour is the hot tub; close the gates and the garden is all secure, so you can truly relax at Riverside. The youngsters can have fun on the play equipment whilst you get the barbecue going on the patio; it's just all so perfect for big family holidays.
