Riverside is light and airy, with a congenial welcoming feel that you'll notice as soon as you step in from the front porch to the reception/dining room. Finished in elegant neutral tones, the room exudes calm and homeliness; feel yourself slip into your holiday straight away. To one end a big inviting sofa sits facing a cosy wood-burning stove; there's quirky bookshelf wallpaper in the alcoves, slate floors and soft lamplight.

Eat in the kitchen or in this light filled reception room; a big chunky dining table seats 12 -14 so there's plenty of room for a happy family feast. One of the property's two staircases rises from the end of this room.

Wander through to the kitchen, where you'll find a snug breakfast area with built in seating to three sides. Off the other end of the reception room is a lobby, wc and utility, leading through to the games room (see below).

The Shaker style kitchen is very well equipped and again, it's bright and airy; with that outlook across the Somerset Levels you might just find yourself doing a bit of kitchen sink dreaming! A door opens out onto the river bank - a tranquil spot for morning coffee or a sundowner, but be mindful that the river is unfenced so please supervise young children at all times.

Next to the kitchen is a big living room with plenty of sofas for you all to put your feet up. Neutral and earthy tones, chenille and velvet, and fluffy rugs create a very homely ambience. Off this room you'll find a wc and shower room, and a garden room that makes a wonderful playroom, with French doors out to the garden.

A second staircase leads from the living room to two double bedrooms on the first floor. Both have en suite shower rooms and their own quirky character. The front bedroom overlooks the leafy garden.

From the back bedroom you can sip your morning tea and take in the glorious far reaching views over the river and the undisturbed Somerset Levels; a haven for wildlife, particularly migratory birds, so keep some binoculars handy.

The staircase in the reception room leads to a spacious landing; a quiet spot with a Victorian fireplace where you can sit and read by the window. Off this are three more bedrooms, the shared bathroom and separate shower room; climb the stairs to the second floor.

Bedroom 4 faces the front garden and has zip and link beds which can be arranged as a superking or twins. An original Victorian fireplace adds period charm to this more contemporary styled room.

Bedroom 3 overlooks the river and is nautically themed, with a traditional style double bedstead; a quirky touch that works well with the more modern furnishings.

Bedroom 5 is a charming twin room with a view out over the river and fields. Hospital style beds and delicate floral patterns reflect the property's Victorian heritage.

On the top floor of the house is Bedroom 6 with zip and link beds (superking or twins) and across the little landing, is a bathroom with a shower. From here, the views across the marshy landscape of the Somerset Levels are breathtaking, and it's utterly peaceful.

We think many happy hours will be passed in the games room! There's a pool table that doubles up for ping-pong, plus table football, a dartboard, and Sky TV. Step out of the double doors to the front garden and beneath a leafy arbour is the hot tub; close the gates and the garden is all secure. The youngsters can have fun on the play equipment whilst you get the barbecue going on the patio; it's just all so perfect.
