Come to Pippinsands and take a little time out from the wedding arrangements; no doubt it’s been going on for months now – dress fittings, bridesmaids attire, the service, the reception, what to have your first dance to…. Have a break from it all, just for a few days and get right out in the country where you can relax and put your feet up with your closest friends, soak in the hot tub, and have yourselves a nice little hen weekend.
We’re not talking loud and lairy, pushing the bride round town in a supermarket trolley with L plates on, we’re talking about something altogether more dignified, a quieter affair, just a really nice weekend away with your besties. That’s not to say you can’t have fun; there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be singing and dancing in the kitchen whilst a few of you cook up a celebration feast – or better still, get one of our tried and tested caterers in to do it for you. They’ll do afternoon tea on the lawn, canapes in the drawing room, whatever you fancy.
If you’d rather go out to eat there’s a considerable choice in this neck of the woods; River Cottage at Axminster, The Holt or JK’s Bistro in Honiton, The Pig at Combe, or for something more pubby, the Drewe Arms at Broadhembury or the Six Bells Inn at Payhembury are both good.
If you like, you can book up some in-house entertainment; have a look at our Extras page and you’ll find beauty therapists to come and pamper you, cocktail waiters to rock up and serve you Mojitos and Manhattans, or you can book up a life drawing class, cup cake decorating, even dance lessons – flamenco, belly dancing or street style. Just imagine!
If you’re thinking you’d like to go out and do something, all you girls together, how’s about pony trekking with Devenish Pitt Riding Stables, or a walk in the hills and lunch at a country pub? Go over to the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth for a day out, to Exeter for retail therapy and a tour of the Underground Passages, or for something more adventurous try go-karting at Mansell Raceway, off-road driving at Escot, clay pigeon shooting with Ling Shooting or get behind the wheel of some big earth movers at Diggerland.
See? Dignified needn’t mean boring; just remember to keep the noise down and you'll be fine. Check availability and book your hen weekend at Pippinsands today.
