If things have been a bit stressful of late and you need a break from the wedding planning a relaxing weekend in the country with your best buddies is just the ticket, so you should come to Hill View. You’ll like it.

We should explain that our large group holiday homes aren’t party houses, but that’s not to say you can’t enjoy a jolly good hen weekend with us. We’re more about the refined hen parties, those with a bit of sophistication; what we definitely don’t do is raucous.

Hill View is tucked away in the rolling hills of East Devon, just a 10 minute drive from the Jurassic Coast, so there’s plenty to do in these parts no matter what your tastes. If walking is your thing you can pick up the East Devon Way or walk from Beer to Branscombe and have lunch at The Masons Arms; if you fancy something more adventurous hire a boat from Beer Self Drive Motorboats and have a go at mackerel fishing, go over to Mansell Raceway for a whizz round the track, test your target skills with Exeter Laser Clays or book up with Land Rover Experience West Country for an off-road challenge. If you like SUP boarding, windsurfing or kayaking you can do that with Exmouth Watersports, and if the idea of pony trekking in the glorious countryside appeals, give Devenish Pitt Farm Riding School a call.

There’s also quite a choice when it come to eating out, whether you prefer a feasting house like Rusty Pig at Ottery St Mary, authentic wood fired pizzas like they serve at Robot in Axminster, or an informal restaurant like The Pig at Combe, River Cottage Canteen in Axminster, or the floating River Exe Café. You’ll find some very good local pubs around too – The Kingfisher in Colyton is what you call a proper pub, with a good atmosphere and tasty home cooked food; in Beer there’s The Anchor with it’s clifftop garden overlooking the sea. A few miles up the road is the Hare & Hounds, and over at Axmouth is the Ship Inn or The Harbour Inn. If you don't fancy going out bear in mind that the owners of Hill View offer private catering in the comfort of your Sleeps12 big holiday house through their business Country Caterers – see our Extras page for more.

Time to take it easy, time for a big lazy stretch and unwinding with good friends; a hot tub to soak in, places to go, places to see, great food, fresh air, beautiful scenery. Check availability and book your large group hen weekend today.
