From milking shed to seriously stunning group accommodation, Hill View has seen a very creative transformation and is now a unique large group holiday house that sleeps 14 in 7 bedrooms and has room for 2 extra guest beds at a small charge per person. There’s a hot tub on the patio overlooking countryside that’s much as it was a hundred years ago, and inside is a huge open plan living space that makes for very sociable and happy holidays. Interiors combine quirky contemporary style, rustic character and a raw industrial edge to perfection, from the secret door at the end of the kitchen to the latest bathrooms and the worktop inlaid with 2p pieces (just wait till you see it!).

Hill View is on the edge of the quiet village of Southleigh, just a few miles from Colyton in Devon. It’s so gorgeous round these parts, you can step out from the doorstep and explore to your heart’s content; walk the high hedged lanes, discover footpaths through fields and along ancient holloways. Close by are the beaches of the Jurassic Coast; Beer is just a ten minute drive, a quiet fishing village with a relaxing ambience that makes you want to linger. Have a mooch around the shops, hire a boat from Beer Self Drive Motorboats and go mackerel fishing, follow the South West Coast Path over to Branscombe, stop for lunch at the Fountain Head, or stroll back and have fish and chips in the clifftop garden of the Anchor Inn.

There are local shops and pubs, and a riverside walk in Colyton; go to the station and catch the tram for a leisurely ride through Seaton Marshes, coming back for tea at the Tramstop Café. Only slightly further is Seaton where there are supermarkets and dog friendly beaches; stroll out to the Hideaway Café tucked away between the cliffs, watch the sunset over the Axe estuary. With the coast so close you could go to a different beach everyday - play on the sands and saunter along the promenade at Sidmouth, go to Exmouth for watersports, visit the Marine Aquarium and Dinosaurland Fossil Museum at Lyme Regis. Charmouth is a little further but it's great for fossil hunting and if you have a sense of adventure, see if you can find the tiny bay of Littlecombe Shoot.

Ride the trains at Pecorama where the young ‘uns will be in their element with outdoor and indoor play areas; go to the Donkey Sanctuary for a free day out, to see the animals at Axe Valley Wildlife Park or Wildwood Escot. Further afield you can have a family day at Crealy Theme Park and Resort, or head down to Exeter where you can take the kids to Clip n Climb, and have a tour of the beautiful cathedral and the medieval underground passages. Get back to Hill View, sit in the garden or soak in the hot tub with a drink whilst the sun sets over the hill; perfick as they say round here. Book today!
