Hamble House ticks all the right boxes for impressive corporate breaks, celebrations and family holidays. Set in the peaceful village of Warsash near Southampton, there are glorious views over the River Hamble, fresh coastal air and everything you need to ensure a happy holiday or short break.
Electric security gates and a private drive lead to a large parking area; get out and stretch your legs then go on up the steps and in through the front door. Outside the house is contemporary with classic influences, inside it’s modern luxury with an ambience entirely of its own; it’s warm and welcoming, it’s swish and stylish. Straight ahead of you in the commodious hall is a double sweeping staircase, to the left is the large and well-equipped kitchen and a big living room with bifold doors leading out to a sunny patio.
This open-plan room allows for very sociable times; if you’re here celebrating a special birthday or anniversary you’ll soon get into the swing of things. The kitchen is so well kitted out that cooking for a big group is no problem, but if that doesn’t appeal just call up one of our recommended caterers to come and feed you - perfect for those celebration feasts. Off the kitchen to one side is a utility room with an extra fridge freezer and laundry facilities, straight ahead is a the orangery with inviting sofas and as you'd expect, an outlook over the gardens.
Round to the right of those sweeping stairs is the games room with a pool table and roulette; get your glad rags on and roll those dice – upstairs there’s Texas Holdem so you’ve got your very own private casino here! Along the hall is the dining room where a humongous table seats 14 of you (larger groups can dine together at two tables in the kitchen/orangery or outside in the sunshine); further along a short staircase takes you down to the spa hall.
Now here’s where the wow factor really kicks in; just off the spa hall is the tiled steam room, just inside is the sunken hot tub and centre of the room is a 10x5m heated pool. There’s ample room for loungers, there are changing rooms, and bifold doors open wide to bring the sunshine in.
Back up the stairs, off a half-landing is the lounge, all calm and comfy with plenty of sofas to sink into, and a big wall mounted TV. Carry on round, back to the main hall and upstairs to a humongous part-galleried landing; to the left are Bedrooms 1 and 2, both with doubles beds and en suite shower rooms, plus the added luxury of a balcony with outdoor furniture and those fabulous views over the water.
To the right of the landing are Bedrooms 3-7. Bedroom 3 has a super king bed, a very swish en suite bathroom with a spa bath and walk-in shower, and its own seating area. Besides the bay window there are doors that open onto a private balcony with outdoor furniture and yep, views of the river. Bedrooms 4 and 5 are both double rooms that share a bathroom with a free standing bath and walk-in shower. Bedroom 6 is another one with a balcony, and it has a seating area, an en suite shower room and a super king or twin beds.
Bedroom 7, with its nautical theme, has a wonderful vaulted ceiling, and again, the luxury of its own comfy seating separate from the double bedded sleeping area, and an en suite shower room. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe space and TVs with Freeview. On the other side of the whopper of a landing is the Texas Holdem; get dressed up to the nines in the bedrooms, stroll around for a poker evening.
Bedrooms 8 and 9 are on the top floor, both with double beds, built-in wardrobes and TVs. The lucky folk who sleep up here will have the whole floor to themselves – a huge space with a small kitchen area with a fridge and microwave, a lounge area with a TV, and a seating area right in front of a Juliette balcony that has views out over the garden and the river. There’s also a bathroom on this floor, with a walk-in shower. So, a great space for a family, perhaps for grandparents who like to turn in a little earlier, or for teenagers.
The gardens are to the back and side of the house; bifold doors open from the orangery onto a large patio with plenty of furniture, and a path leads to the BBQ hut. There are more patios with seating along the back of the house and outside the spa hall – so no excuses (other than the weather) for not topping up your tan. Stroll around the gently sloping gardens with their distinctly Mediterranean feel; amble along the Victorian walk, take your time and enjoy the peace and the river vistas. It’s a world of your own at Hamble House, a modern version of a coastal country house. A place to relax, a place to be happy. Book today!
