Walk into Ham Bottom and you'll feel all your worries drift away; what strikes you first is how calm and welcoming it is; spacious, light and airy, and so stylish - soothing neutral tones with bold splashes of colour; so modern chic! On the ground floor there's Travertine flooring throughout, with underfloor heating so it's a delight to stay here anytime of year.
When you come in, straight ahead of you is the games room with a pool table, a big TV with a DVD player, and comfy sofas to fall onto and snuggle up for a movie night; a great space for the youngsters and grown ups alike, and you won't have far to go for refills of popcorn as the well designed kitchen-diner is right next door.
You see, it's an amazingly sociable living and entertaining area; you can cook and chat, nip off for a game of pool - brilliant! The kitchen has a central island, 2 big ovens and a halogen hob, two microwaves and two dishwashers; two of almost everything makes cooking for your large group so much easier, but if it still doesn't grab you then you can always book up one of our tried and tested professional catering companies to come in and they'll soon whip up a feast to tantalise your tastebuds; it's a great idea if you've a special occasion to celebrate. The long dining table is equally good for chirpy breakfast times, relaxed lunches or happy dinners; it comfortably seats your whole group and there's soft lighting to add to the ambience.
The two ground floor bedrooms are both access friendly with TVs and en suite wet rooms. All the beds at Ham Bottom are zip and link so you can decide how you want them arranged - as twins or superkings; just let us know after you've made your booking and we'll sort it all out for you. On the first floor, Bedrooms 3 and 5 can both accommodate one extra person at an additional charge - again, add this to your booking and leave it to us.
Through the kitchen-diner there's a handy utility room with a WC and laundry facilities. Continue through to the fantastic indoor swimming pool; it's an even 4ft deep with steps down into the water and plenty of room around the pool for loungers. The pool hall also has a shower and the added bonus of a sauna, and what's really great are the huge bi-fold doors that you can pull right back to let the warm sunshine in; you'll find them throughout the ground floor at Ham Bottom.
From the games room a wide staircase takes you to up to the living room. It's quite a 'wow' moment and this was all part of the carefully considered design; having the living room upstairs means you get heaps of natural light and glorious views of lush green fields dotted with copses. It's all so gorgeous and it adds to the relaxation of your holiday; open the windows and breathe in that fresh country air. This is a lovely room to enjoy a glass or two of something nice as the sun sets over the valley.
The oak flooring on the first floor gives a lovely honeyed ambience; the fat inviting sofas are just perfect for laid back chats or for curling up to read a good book by lamplight. There are four more en suite bedrooms off the living room, two with wet rooms and two with free standing baths and well-sized walk in showers.
Outside you've got privacy and a marvellous outlook as you're surrounded by the picturesque Somerset countryside; birds twittering, sheep bleating - it's bliss! There's a roomy hot tub on the terrace and because it's got a domed cover that you can pull back if you want to, it's perfect for use year round. Just a few strides away is a wonderfully cosy BBQ lodge; now they're great for getting together beneath the twinkly lights, wrapped up in reindeer skin rugs swapping stories into the night.
