As soon as you step into the spacious hallway at Foxhill Lodge you'll feel all your worries slip away and you'll start to relax. It's all so light and airy, and the golden tones of the oak flooring add a certain homeliness. Right down the end of the hall is Bedroom 1, with an en suite shower room, fitted wardrobe, flatscreen TV and a luxurious carpet to wiggle your toes into. You can have the bed arranged as a superking or as two singles, just let us know after you've made your booking and we'll make sure it's done. Straight ahead of you in the hall is the snug/games room where you can chill out and play table football or watch a movie on the widescreen TV.
To the right of the hall is the big open-plan kitchen/dining room, with a lovely long table you can gather round for happy meal times; when you've had your fill sit on the sofa and let your dinner go down. The kitchen is so well-equipped, with 4 built in ovens, an extra large 6 ring ceramic hob, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, 2 wine coolers, and a microwave; there's a central island with stools so it's so easy to cook and chat at the same time, no one's left out, everyone;s happy.
Off the kitchen there's a WC and a utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Conveniently, there's a stable door opening onto the courtyard, so it's ideal for when you've been for a hike in the country and you come back with muddy boots and wet coats.
The contemporary staircase was specially made for Foxhill Lodge, of oak and glass; on the way upstairs you won't be able to resist pausing on the half landing to look out at the spectacular views throught the floor to ceiling windows.
And that's exactly why the owners decided to have the living room upstairs - so that guests can enjoy that far reaching vista as much as possible; honestly, you can see for miles! This is such a lovely room, soft and welcoming with sumptuous sofas and a whopper of a TV; dim the lights, get a bowl of popcorn and choose a good movie, then settle down for a cosy night's viewing. In the summer, have the French doors open so you can step out on to the veranda or go down to the garden whenever you want to.
To the left of the living room is Bedroom 2, with zip and link beds (superking or twin), built-in wardrobes and an en suite shower room. get up in the morning, pull back the curtains and admire the view from the Juliette balcony. What a great start to the day!
To the right of the living room a small hallway leads to Bedrooms 3 and 4, both with zip and link beds and having use of a shared family bathroom that's plush and modern, with a bath and overhead power shower.
Bedroom 3 has access to the veranda that runs more or less the length of the house and gives access down to the garden, so it's quite easy to sneak down for a moonlit swim or an early morning dip.
Bedroom 4 has an outlook over the courtyard where there's a hot tub and outdoor table tennis. What's really noticeable is how utterly restfull the bedrooms all feel - with that and the fresh country air you ought to sleep well!
The pool is amazing, set in a big terrace where you have staggeringly beautiful views that go on and on for miles. It's easy to imagine baking hot days lazing around on the loungers sipping an ice cold drink, or splashing about with the kids. You know those kind of days where a lunchtime barbecue stretches into the afternoon? Days when you;re busy doing nothing, good for the soul. Bear in mind that the pool is only available for use from 1st May – 30th September and that it's shared with the property owners.
If you want to escape from the heat of the sun you can retreat to the breeze hut; it makes a very nice place to have a quiet moment with a drink, perhaps a game of cards or a chat.
The younger people in your group will find plenty to keep them happy; apart from the swimming pool and the games room, they can play outdoor table tennis, bounce about on the trampoline, and have fun in the play area; with a climbing wall, play hut, swings and a slide they'll be happy for hours. If the weather lets you down there's no need to be disappointed as you can cosy up in the Scandinavian style BBQ lodge to toast marshmallows or sizzle sausages. You'll probably stay out there for hours, swapping stories, telling jokes, maybe even having a sing song. One things for sure, you'll be making wonderful memories to take home with you... check availability and book your stay at Foxhill Lodge today.
