9/10 - Crowcombe and Thorncombe are beautiful holiday lodges, well equipped and ideally suited to large family gatherings. The children loved the swimming pools. One consideration might be the addition of an outdoor hot tub. There were very minor things that need attention that I have notified the owner about. - Verley - June 2019

My family and I had an amazing time celebrating my 60th birthday at Crowcombe and Thorncombe lodges. What fabulous places they are..modern, scrupulously clean and beautiful open plan spaces to enable lots of people to interact. The pools were a huge bonus as we had lots of small children who enjoyed being in the water. The facilities were first class with much thought given to detail. The complimentary wine was appreciated and delicious gateaux also! We didnt have great weather but still managed to have great fun with board games, pool (water and table kind) and non stop food. Tiny downside was that we asked if stairgates were fitted and were told 'yes top and bottom' but in actual fact the bottom gates are several stairs up and we had a 20 month old grandson fall and bang his head hard neccessitating a trip to A&E (very hard to be behind them 24/7 when so many people are there) so I would say to guests to bring an adjustable gate for very bottom of stairs if you have toddlers. The beds were fab and rooms spacious with lovely bathrooms. All in all I highly recommend these beautiful lodges for a family or friends get together. You wont be disappointed! - Utley - March 2019

9/10 - Lovely place have recommended it to friends. Love the fact that you have two dishwashers and loads of ovens, all very clean. We all had a great time there. Thank you x Deducted one mark for the flies in the bedroom of Thorncombe the one with the two cots, which I know can't be helped but could not open the windows as loads, please check gutter for a dead bird as there must be something there that they are attracted too and the loud party animals next door till 3 in the morning using the swimming pool Friday and Saturday nights, which we again know is not your fault. - Pauline - November 2018

10/10 - Everything you could possibly need while away was at hand, and on arrival finding a gateau and 2 bottles of wine waiting for us just added another thoughtful touch, will definitely be booking again. We took the time to go for a lovely meal in the Farmers Arms in West Hatch which is about a 30 min drive away, but really didn't feel the need to leave the lodge. Thank you very much. - Murray Group  - October 2017

9/10 - We didnt go out we just enjoyed the facilities there, ie pool, trampoline, snooker tables, tv and the sun chairs. We were really lucky with the weather. The kids enjoyed the pools and the snooker and the barbecue. - Grice Family - September 2017

10/10 - Absolutely fantastic weekend staying here and I can't recommend this place enough. Stunning properties with everything you need and more. Already planning another trip back and I didn't want to leave. - Lemon Party - May 2017

Thorncombe was an excellent choice for us as it provided a large, modern and comfortable setting for the 13 of us to enjoy a weekend away together. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and family. - Collins - Chelmsford

Thorncombe has been great for us. Two families of four and Nanny and Grandad. Great space for us all to be in. The kids range from 2yrs to 7yrs, have been in the pool every day and enjoyed the pool table along with the Dads. The room layout for bedtime was perfect. There has been lots of things to do within 45 mins which has satisfied all - pubs, train trips and zoos. - Cripps and Warings - Surrey and Cardiff

Crowcombe is a really lovely property, very clean and well equipped. Our two small grandchildren particularly enjoyed the pool and play equipment. We've had a great family holiday and didn't want to leave. - Diane - Kent
