That big day is getting closer now and it won’t be long ‘til you’ll be one of a married couple so make the most of the opportunity to celebrate with a hen weekend in the country, a chance to get away with your closet buddies after what feels like yonks spent planning – the dresses, the church, the wedding breakfast, the flowers, etc., etc. Croftview is a wonderful house to rent for a large group hen weekend; there are 13 en suite bedrooms, a games room, a spa hall with a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, and in the garden is Charlotte's Web, a cosy rustic BBQ hut built into the hillside. All the beds except one are zip and link so can be superkings or twins, it’s entirely up to you.
To be honest, we don’t think you’ll feel like going far, you’ll love it at Croftview so much, but why not take a look at our Extras page for ideas for in-house entertainment? You’ll find things like cupcake decorating, life drawing, dance lessons and mobile therapists who can come and pamper you – such a treat! You might fancy going out for a bite to eat sometime and luckily there are some very good pubs and restaurants close by – the Lord Poulett Arms in the village is a delight, but also well worth going to are Dinnington Docks, Haselbury Mill, and The White Horse at Haselbury Plucknett. If you fancy going out for tea and cake go to Dorothy’s Tea Room in the village, though also jolly good are The Feed Station and Pip’s Railway Carriage Café. If you call Coombe Farm Organic they’ll come over with a Shepherd’s Hut or a Big Green Egg and cook for you, or you can hire their café or feasting woods.
If you a day out is part of the plan you’ll find heaps to do round here; the coast isn’t far at all so you could head over to Lyme Regis where you can take a mackerel fishing trip, play crazy golf, or have fish and chips on the beach. Walk the South West Coast Path from Seaton to Beer and have lunch at the Anchor Inn, or go to Branscombe and have a bite at the Sea Shanty Beach Café. If you like country houses and gardens go to Barrington Court, Montacute House or Forde Abbey.
If you’re the outdoor types then lucky you – there are plenty of walks right from the doorstep, all through fields and woods on the private estate so the chances are you won’t see a soul. You can book up for pony trekking with Hillview Riding Stables, or have a go on a rifle range at Rifleman Ranges. You’ll find more inspiration on our Things To Do Page so take a look. Whatever you do, it’ll be a hen weekend to remember at Croftview, so fix your dates and book today!
