The dog lovers among us will agree that it's good to be able to take your pet pooch on holiday with you - after all, they are part of the family so why send them off to kennels? It's much better to take them with you and let them join in the fun. Coat Barn welcomes two well behaved dogs, so you can pack the bowl, the lead, and the toys - and don't forget a special towel! We can guarantee your mutt needn't be short of exercise during your stay here - there's a network of lanes, footpaths and bridleways right on your doorstep, ripe for exploring; you can have some wonderful walks through open fields and copses, along streams, or among the hills. Coat Barn is right on the edge of the beautiful Somerset Levels where you can stroll along the old drover's tracks and waterways; just down the road you can pick up the Parrett Trail and stroll along the banks of the river to Kingsbury Episcopi and have lunch at the Wyndham Arms. If you head to Ham Hill Country Park just a few miles away you and your pooch can have a good walk about and then go to the Prince of Wales Inn for sustenance - they just LOVE dogs there and even provide hosepipes for muddy paws, bowls of water, and there's always a jar of dog treat on the bar. You'll find plenty of good walks around the hamstone villages of Montacute, Stoke-sub-Hamdon, or Norton-sub-Hamdon - and you'll find some charming dog friendly country inns where you can enjoy a relaxing pint of the local brew. If your dog likes to paddle in the sea, you're not far from the famous Jurassic coast where you'll find several dog friendly beaches, though be aware that some have seasonal restrictions. Plenty of exercise, fresh air, glorious countryside ... what more could your furry friend want?
