Churchill 30 welcomes 2 well behaved dogs by prior arrangement, which means your furry friend doesn’t have to miss out on your large group holiday in Somerset. And of course, being in the country, there’s no shortage of walkies! Right on the doorstep you can amble through the fields to Dowlish Wake and walk as far as you like. Stroll up to Herne Hill in Ilminster, along the old railway line to Chard, or around Chard Reservoir Nature Reserve. The Blackdown Hills aren’t far at all, just a few miles away and there you’ll find plenty of exercise opportunities, like Staple Hill, Castle Neroche and the utterly tranquil Otterhead Lakes. The good thing is you’re never far from a country pub in these parts – we’d recommend The Holman Clavel, The Candlelight Inn at Bishopswood and The Greyhound at Staple Fitzpaine.
If you want to see more of the spectacular countryside in Somerset, get out for the day with your pooch in tow because there is so much choice! Go and explore the magical Somerset Levels where you can visit one of the nature reserves, or stroll along the River Tone from Langport to Burrowbridge; climb to the top of Burrow Mump, go back down for a bit of tucker at the King Alfred Inn and then head back. Pootle over to the coast and have a doggie paddle at Lyme Regis, Seaton, Charmouth or Axmouth – all have dog friendly beaches, though restrictions may apply at certain times of the year to some areas. Book your dog friendly stay today!
